Arase Confirmed As Police IG

SAN FRANCISCO, May 12, (THEWILL) – Mr. Solomon Arase, the Acting Inspector General of Police was Tuesday confirmed as the substantive Inspector General of Police by the Police Council presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Arase, from Edo State, was appointed as acting IG by President Jonathan following the sack of Mr. Suleiman Aba.

The confirmation came shortly after the Council of State meeting when the Police council met under the chairmanship of the President.

Tuesday's Council of State meeting was the President's last session as head of the council having lost his re-election bid. He would however continue to attend the monthly meetings of the council as a former President.
