Internet Nanny Behind 3 Abducted Kids Detained In Lagos

SAN FRANCISCO, April 16, (THEWILL) – The nanny behind the sensational abduction of three kids in Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub, last week, has been detained by the police hours after they were found abandoned in property in the Shasha area of the state. The ages of the Orekoya kids involved in the incident were listed as 4, 6 and 11 months.

The nanny identified as Mary Akinloye was hired by the Orekoya family from OLX, an online trading website where people buy and sell goods and services.

Lagos State Police Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayde Aderanti, confirmed the arrest of the nanny, who alongside her gang demanded N15 million for the release of the kids. It is not clear how much was eventually paid for the kids' freedom.
