INEC Declares Taraba State Governorship Election Inconclusive.
BEVERLY HILLS, April 13, (THEWILL) – The election was a two-way race between the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mrs. Aisha Al-Hassan, who may become Nigeria's first elected female governor and the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Darius Ishaku.
Before the stalemated election, INEC had officially recorded 317,198 votes for the PDP and 262,386 for the APC.
According to the returning officer the difference in votes between the PDP and the APC is 54,881, while the rejected votes from some troubled areas are over 100, 000 votes.
The INEC official said supplementary election will be held within 30 days.
