INEC Declares Imo Governorship Election Inconclusive

‎SAN FRANCISCO, April 12, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Imo State Governorship election inconclusive.

The election was a two-way race between incumbent Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to results announced in Owerri by INEC, the APC candidate polled 385,671, while the PDP 306,142. The difference in the votes between both candidates was put at 79,529, while cancelled votes was 144, 715.
