South South Youth Protest Over Senate Presidency

A group known as the South South APC youth has agitated for the number three seat to be given to the south south in order to balance the political permutation according to the zoning arrangement. The group spoke through their leader and former APC councilor Hon. Ojugbana Ejike at the Premises of the Delta Broadcasting Service in Asaba. Ojugbana who said the call has become necessary said the group will drum more support and attention on the issue until the south south is consider top most seat in the senate.

According to him, it has come to our knowledge that the incoming government has resolve to zone the Seat of the Senate President to the North Central Owing to the fact that the South East geo political zone did not produce any APC Senator in the last election. There is an availability of a vibrant APC Senator from Edo North in the South South and this zone has never been considered. The south south just lost the presidential seat we cannot also lost the number three seat again. We wont concede the presidency to the North Central State after it had occupied the seat for the past Eight years through David Mark. Intelligence is not an exclusive reserve of the North Central.

The APC Chieftain lamented the ongoing political plotting and contention against the south south state saying that the APC National Chairman should be respected and the seat should be given to the senatorial zone of comrade Adams Oshiomhole who produce a former military officer Major Francis Alimikhenan as the APC Senator for Edo North. The senate president cannot go back to the North Central when the home State of the national leaders of the party is qualified for the job. The APC national leaders may need to explain what they meant by saying ‘the absent of top ranking senator in the south south and south east is their basis for taking the slot back to the North Central.

He however warn against giving the senate president seat to David Mark Should he decamp to the APC. Alimikhena is an elder statesmean and an APC chieftain in the South South who can effectively steer the affairs of the Senate to the best interest of the nation. The former legislative leader particularly condemn the ongoing scheming and shopping for Saraki or Akume to occupy the Senate President Seat.
