INDISCRIMINATE ARRESTS OF NORTHERN ELEMENTS IN ELEME, RIVERS STATE BY PDP

This is a dangerous act that could set this country on fire, and as always in everything despicable, Olaka Worgu, Senatorial Candidate of PDP in Rivers South-East, is alleged to be the mastermind of this reprehensible act!

UNPROVOKED ARREST, LOOTING AND ATTACK ON APC MUSLIMS AND HAUSA YAM SELLERS IN ELEME RIVERS STATE- A CALL FOR SECURITY CONCERNS.

21/03/2015 It has been confirmed by the authorities of Eleme LGA that about the early hours of Saturday 21/03/2015, men in combined police, civil defense, army and Navy uniforms raided the residents and stalls of about fifty (50) Hausa and Muslim yam dealers at the Onne-Ebubu axis of the East West road in Eleme LGA.

The men, according to eye-witnesses, came in with about twenty hilux vehicles, one of which was painted fully with PDP color and logo. The attack which came like a reprisal incident, left the helpless residents (all of who are almost APC members) in deep shock.

One Hausa victim, who was interviewed narrated the ordeal:

"we just heard gun shots at about 1.00am, and woke up only to see men in different military atires, police, navy, army, civil defense, break into our batcher, asking us questions as, why have we not travelled to North for elections?, what are we doing in Eleme? We can be shot and killed like nothing, and so on, and so forth. They bundled some of our brothers into their hilux vans, and also carted away the monies we realised from sales and some quantity of our yams".

Reacting to this, the LGA sees these set of Nigerians as free citizens, who have their PVCs registered here in Eleme, and they are all APC members, thus, there is no need chasing them away from the land, since they reside here, are registered here and would fulfill their civic responsibility of voting for the candidates of their choice here.

The security agencies are hereby pleaded with, to release those they allegedly arrested and ensure the safety of these visitors, who have found Eleme as their domiciliary. All Nigerians have rights to movement and habitation in any part of Nigeria.

CTC Chairman of Eleme, Hon. Oji Ngofa, has waded into action to see to those behind the act.
