Nicholson Strongly Condemns Terrorist Attack in Tunisia

OTTAWA, Canada, March 19, 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement condemning the terrorist attack in Tunisia:

“Canada condemns in the strongest of terms today's terrorist attack on the Tunisian parliament and the hostage taking at the Bardo Museum in Tunis.

“On behalf of all Canadians, I offer my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this brutal and senseless attack against innocent civilians and the heart of Tunisia's democracy.

“Tunisia has made remarkable progress in its democratic transition. Any attempt to derail this progress will only strengthen the resolve of Tunisians to continue to fight for human rights, tolerance, freedom and peace. Canada stands with the people and government of Tunisia as they continue to fight against terrorism and build an open and democratic country.”
