PDP Governorship Aspirant Becomes Shettima's Special Adviser

BEVERLY HILLS, February 26, (THEWILL) – A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Makinta, has been appointed a Honourary Special Adviser on Projects by Governor Kashim Shettima.

Makinta, who was an original member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, returned to the APC following the controversy and misunderstanding that surrounded the PDP governorship primary in the state.

Makinta's appointment as a Special Adviser, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Kashim Shettima, Mallam Isa Gusau, on Thursday.

According to the statement, Makinta's appointment was due to his record of experience in public service during which he supervised the execution of several public and corporate projects for the state.

Makinta is a former member of the House of Representatives and the first Borno State Chairman of the All People's Party (APP) which later transformed into All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP).

Also, he is a former Commissioner for Education and Health as well as a former Deputy National Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
