Buhari to Open Up on Certificate Scandal, Says APC

All Progressives' Congress (APC) Presidential candidate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari will Wednesday address a press conference to clear the air on his certificate scandal, his director of media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu has said.

The Nigerian Army had today said it has no records of the originals or Certified True Copies (CTCs) of the school certificate result with which Buhari joined the Army in 1961.

The Army, through its spokesman, Brig. General Olajide Olaleye said Buhari's school principal merely recommended his former student for enlistment.

Apparently worried by the Army's official position, Buhari, who served as a General Officer Commanding (GOC), before becoming a Major General and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, said he would address a press conference on the “issue.”

This would be the first press conference by Buhari since December 11, 2014 when he beat former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and some serving governors to become the APC presidential flag bearer.

“Presidential candidate of the APC Gen. Muhammadu Buhari will address a press conference at 9::00 am tomorrow, Wednesday the 21st of January in Kano on the certificate issue,” the campaign organization declared.
