THE REPORT CARD THAT WE WILL BELIEVE: BETWEEN PRESIDENT JONATHAN & GENERAL BUHARI (RTD)

Buhari wants to tell Nigerians what he will do. President Jonathan will SHOW Nigerians what he promised he will do. He will give Nigerians an honest account of his life in service, from his time as a loyal and trustworthy Deputy Governor, to his time as Governor, and then tell Nigerians of his time as a loyal and trusted Vice President and then to his years as an elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We will then listen to General Buhari (rtd) as he tells us what we know he had done when he had a shot at military leadership 31 years ago after toppling a democratic regime and thereby inciting the Military to ignite almost two decades of military dictatorships, various coup d'etats, mutinies, executions by firing squads, jailed terms for fail coups and coupists, assassinations, murders and deaths.

We will listen to General Buhari as he explains to us whether he was a loyal and trusted General Officer Commanding (GOC) the 3rd Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army where he was supposed to be keeping watch for his Boss and Commander-in-Chief & then President Shehu Shagari. He will explain to us why as a General Commanding the army troops, he sought to remove his boss and relieve him of his office.

We will listen to Buhari tell us why he has decided to come for the Baby , the bath and the water 31 years after he threw away the baby and the bathwater on one fateful day in December, 1983 when Nigerians were planning how to celebrate a new year.

General Buhari will explain to us why he and his over ambitious military officers could not have the patience to wait for 3 more years so that Nigerians can go to the polls again in 1987 and test Shagari's popularity and say if they still want him to continue serving them as President. Alas within those that supposed democratic space (1983 – 1987), Thanks to General Buhari, Nigeria witnessed two military heads-of-state through two military coup d'etat.

Who knows if Dele Giwa, MKO Abiola, Shehu Yar'Adua, Ken Saro – Wiwa, Rewane, Kudirat Abiola and the many others who died along the way would still be alive IF that Buhari Coup d'etat of December 1983 had not been?

President Jonathan will remind Nigerians about the state of infrastructure across the country and explain to them why his government saw the need to put a little more focus on Infrastructure so that critical projects like the East – West Road, Lagos – Ibadan road, Benin – Ore road, Enugu – Port Harcourt Road and many others would be reconstructed and rehabilitated like they are undergoing now.

He will declare to Nigerians that no government has fixed roads across the country like his has done.

President Jonathan will remind Nigerians that in his initial budget presentation to the Nation, the Budget for Education for the first time, in decades, was far above that for Budget for Defense. He will explain to Nigerians that he did not envisage the rise in Militant Islam and the religious extremists and terrorists that today threaten the peace in the North East.

President Jonathan will remind Nigerians that he knew Nigerians had to do something about the embarrassing over dependency on oil and so tremendous efforts were deployed to reactivate our Agricultural sector. Nigeria is slowly becoming a leading regional rice producer. Wheat cultivation has reached advanced stages of perfection.

Mr President will remind Nigerians that to improve transparency in government and establish systemic processes that will curb corruption, he signed the Freedom of Information (FoI) Bill.

He will show Nigerians the many MILESTONES that his government has achieved in the Power Sector Transformation. HE will explain to them how much closer we are to enjoying 24-hour electricity with each milestone that he has achieved with his team in the past four years.

He will give Nigerians the details of the current war again Boko Haram. He will give Nigerians accurate mentions of even the quietest things he has done thus to ensure that we win this war against Boko Haram. He will tell Nigerians the long nights and late hours that he has engaged his military and security advisers in winning the insecurity challenges in the North East.

He will tell Nigerians how he sort out to find solution with Northern political leaders on how to deal with Boko Haram. He will explain on how he conferred with Northern Religious leaders on how to confront the rise of Militant Islam in Northern Nigeria. He will give them the details of his engagement with Northern Traditional leaders on how to manage the insecurity in part of Northern Nigeria.

There is a lot that will be talked about. There is a lot that will be shown to Nigerians.

That session will soon began. It is at that time that we will know whose REPORT we shall truly BELIEVE.
