Plane Crash: Governor Ahmed Calls for Safer Airspace

Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has sympathized with the passengers of the Overland airline that was involved in a minor accident on the runway of the Ilorin International Airport at the weekend.

Governor Ahmed in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba,  said the incident was unfortunate, adding, however, that it was gratifying that the incident was without any fatality.

While commending management of the Airline for its success over the year, the Governor urged stakeholders in the Aviation sector, including airline operators and regulators, to be upbeat in ensuring that the sector remained safe for the travelling public just as he assured air travelers that his government would ensure that aviation companies plying the state maintain adequate standard in their operations.

He prayed Almighty God for continuous protection and security in the state and beyond.
