Islamic Varsity In Uganda Unveils New Courses In Science & IT
The Kampala branch of Islamic university in Uganda (IUIU_KC) has unveiled 1030 new majors for the 2013/14 academic year.
This was during the 13th admissions ceremony on Feb 15. Deputy Rector Dr Mpezamihigo revealed plans to make this campus a center of excellence in health sciences, IT and business fields.
The campus was opened 13 years ago with about 180 students but today has expanded to recruit over 1,000 of them. The university has three other branches across Uganda with the main one in Mbale, eastern Uganda another one in Arua north-western Uganda and one for exclusively female students only, which is the first of its kind in the African continent.
According to the Rector, all the other branches will be centers of excellence for particular study fields.
