Gov. Shettima Formally Registers With APC

SAN FRANCISCO, February 06, (THEWILL) - As the ongoing nationwide membership registration exercise  of the All Progressives Congress (APC) entered its second day on Thursday, the Borno State governor Shettima Ibrahim has formally registered as a member of the party.

The governor who registered   at the polling unit within the Government House Maiduguri was issued with a registration card number 13061001 by the Chairman of the Registration Supervisory Committee in-charge of the state, Alhaji Gambo Magaji, at about 1pm.

The apparently elated governor  said in a chat with journalists after picking up his card : "I feel elated that I'm now a bonafide member of APC, it is a thing of joy and worthy of celebration.

" He therefore  directed his commissioners and  other aides to return to their respective constituencies and mobilise their people to  participate in the exercise.

Calling on the  party faithful  to come out and register enmasse,  the governor said "APC is our party, I pray for peace as all crisis over the interim executives would be addressed.

" Expressing his joy at the development, the chairman of the registration committe,Magaji,disclosed that   Shettima was the first to be registered considering his position as the leader of the party.
