No company has monopoly to lift crude - NNPC


The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on Sunday said no company enjoyed the monopoly of lifting the country's crude oil, contradicting reports that it colluded with some local and international traders to execute unfair industry practices.

The corporation argued that the award of term contracts for lifting of crude oil was transparent, stressing that this was being published periodically by most newspapers in the country.

A statement issued by the acting Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, NNPC, Ms. Tumini Green, stated that the recent report by a Swiss-based non-governmental organisation, which criticised the corporation, was inaccurate and poorly researched.
