Obasanjo, Daniel's feud cost us last guber polls - Ogun West
Leaders in Yewa-Awori in Ogun West Senatorial District in Ogun State, have lamented how the feud between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and erstwhile governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel during the last year general election cost them the coveted governorship seat.
Speaking at a colloquium on 2015 political agenda in Abeokuta Sunday, Chairman of the forum, Dapo Oke who led other people including former commissioners for works and agriculture, Lai Taiwo and Tunji Akinosi disclosed that, the region would come up with a consensus candidate to face the incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in the coming 2015 governorship election in the state.
Obasanjo and Daniel who were from the same Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, locked horns over candidates for the governorship of the party in 2011 election leading to the loss to Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, candidate Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
According to Oke, apart from the feud between former President Obasanjo and ex-governor Daniel which cost us the governorship seat in the 2011 election, Ogun West is not politically organised and as such, it has leadership issues to resolve.
