I'd Choose You a Million Times – Akin Olaiya Mourns Mum 26 Years After
Nollywood actor Akin Olaiya has penned a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, marking 26 years since her passing.
In a touching Instagram post, he expressed how much he misses her care, love, advice, encouragement, motivation, and prayers.
The Yoruba actor reflected on his humble beginnings, recalling how he played his role as a son from the meagre income he made as a bakery clerk. He expressed sadness that his mother did not live long enough to enjoy the fruits of her labour. He also stated that if he had the opportunity to come into this world a million times, he would choose to come through her over and over again.
Olaiya concluded his tribute with a prayer for his mother's continued rest in peace.
He wrote: "Dear mum, I miss your care, love, advice, encouragement, motivation and prayer. Just like yesterday, it's been 26 years without you. Thank God for the grace to play my little role as a son from the meagre income I made from bakery work as Alakowe (bakery clerk) back then. So painful that you did not wait to eat the fruits of your labour. 'E o duro je onje omo' Maami, if I have the opportunity to come into this world a million times, I would choose to come through you over and over again. Abiamo toto, Iya Tope, Iya Shola, Iya Busayo, Iya Bunmi, Iya Funmilayo. Continue to rest in perfect peace. O di'gba o se."
