Insecurity: Is This What We've Accepted As Normal – Actress Mary Njoku Speaks On Oyo Abductions

Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has expressed frustration over the increasing rate of insecurity in the country, particularly the recent Oyo abductions of teachers and students.

In a candid Instagram post, the filmmaker revealed that she was heartbroken and deeply unsettled after reminiscing on the kidnapped Oyo children who are still in captivity.

She wondered if nothing can be done, stressing how the public is forced to move on from the incident.

Njoku expressed shock that the news of such magnitude are now becoming the new norm, questioning if the public is now unperturbed about such occurrences.

She wrote: "I woke up this morning, Angry, heartbroken, and deeply unsettled.

Are we really saying that these kidnapped children are just gone?

Are we saying that nothing more can be done? That innocent children and toddlers can vanish, and somehow the rest of us are expected to carry on as though nothing happened?

Have we become so numb to the endless reports of bandits, kidnappings, and insecurity in Nigeria that they barely move us anymore?

Is this what we’ve accepted as normal?." Recall that The Nigerian Voice reported that students and teachers in the Oriire Local government area of Oyo State were abducted on May 15, 2026.
