“I Have Learned To Embrace Love And Be Open” – Tems Opens Up On Music Impact
Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has opened up on how her transitioning into the music industry has impacted her life.
Speaking in a recent interview with Doose Of Society, the Grammy-award winning singer disclosed that before joining the music industry, she used to be hyper-independent, and always pushed people away, however, she had to do away with the habit.
According to Tems, she has now imbibed the habit of love, loving others, and freedom to express her feelings without oddity.
“Being an artist has changed my life. There are a lot of people that know me. It made me grow, I had to shed a lot of habits that were holding me back—one of those things was my hyper-independency and the thing I do where I push people away.
‘I have now learned to embrace love and just be open, and be free to give love and be vulnerable without feeling odd.”
Tems is one of Nigeria's standout stars on the global stage. She came into limelight in 2018 with the release of her debut single, ‘Mr Rabel’, after transitioning from the corporate world.
