Buhari Hails Media Group For Contribution To National Development

BEVERLY HILLS, October 15, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday described Statecraft Media Company, owners of Red Media Nigeria, as an example of what the country’s young people can achieve with vision, right focus and effort.

The president stated this in a goodwill message sent to mark the media organisation’s 10th year anniversary celebrations in Lagos.

In a statement issued by the presidential spokesman, Shehu Garba, President Buhari praised Red Media for its contribution to youth and national development, especially for the part the group played in actualising the CHANGE mandate of March 28, 2015.

“Red Media was our window to the wide world of the social media throughout our campaign. They did well connecting us to the youth, who in turn, seized the CHANGE campaign and made it happen,” President Buhari was quoted as saying.

Buhari's goodwill message, which was read on his behalf by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, noted that Statecraft handled a major aspect of the social media for the APC Presidential Campaign, adding that they ran a successful campaign, despite having limited funds.

“I would like to use this opportunity to thank Statecraft for their contribution towards the success of the APC Presidential campaign, and to restate my administration’s commitment to partnering with our young people, especially those of them active in the social media that this administration will not waver in its commitment to run a transparent and accountable government,” the president said.

President Buhari added that the future belongs to Nigeria’s young people, and that his government would continue to work with young people to run a country that they would be proud of.
