MI, BUCHI FOR IGNITE FORUM

Thousands of youths from all over the country will converge on Teslim Balogun Stadium on April 17, to listen, learn and laugh; dance, debate and discuss at a special event designed to get young Nigerians fired up to build a future they each will be proud of.

Already, rapper, MI; poet-performer, Sage; Gospel act Buchi; and Naturalz have been announced as headlining performers while speaker, Fela Durotoye, will join Myles Munroe, Ghandi Olaoye, and convener, Pastor Kola Oyeyemi, to teach, motivate and inspire the audience.

To be anchored by Holy Mallam, the event will kick off at 9am. And, according to Oyeyemi of Chapel of Uncommon Grace, organisers of the forum, it will not be all speeches and sermons alone. 'Youths with creative ideas are encouraged to send entries in a one page document to ideas@ignitenigeria.com. Short-listed entries will be given the opportunity to present their ideas on the day and the best idea will get an endowment seed money to start the enterprise in addition to professional advice and mentoring.'

'A chat with this generation of young folks raises fundamental concerns about our future as a nation. Many have no sense of purpose or a clear reason for being. Many have very warped understanding of life and have chosen the path of destruction with the attendant consequences on the society.

I believe this program will help to start off a culture change amongst the youths. We cannot all fold our hands while we watch our future waste away in crime,' Oyeyemi told e-Punch.
