APGA Campaign Stomp: Obiano Storms Ogbaru, Onitsha with Scorecard, New Projects
As the countdown to the general elections gets underway, the Chairman of BoT and National Leader of APGA, Governor Willie Obiano has stormed his native Anambra North Senatorial District with a record of his achievements and an array of new development projects in his effort to woo the voters to cast their votes in favour of candidates standing elections on the platform of APGA.
Addressing a large crowd of supporters at Ogbaru, Governor Obiano revealed that so far, his administration had spent about N23bn on road projects in Ogbaru Local Government Area alone. The governor also revealed that in addition to roads, his administration had also expended huge sums of money in refurbishing schools, hospitals and other institutions that contribute to all round development of the area.
Speaking further, the governor assured party members and the electorate that APGA was growing from strength to strength and had finally broken out from its stronghold into other parts of the country where it is fielding candidates for the various elective positions except the presidency.
Consequently, he urged the people to ignore the antics of some desperate politicians who in defiance to the laws of Anambra State were running an illegal campaign since their names did not make the final list of candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revealing that a democratic process has been instituted to check their excesses.
Also speaking of the fresh initiatives of his administration in Onitsha, Governor Obiano revealed that plans were underway to automate motor parks cross the state to enhance their all-round security and ensure efficiency in revenue generation and management. Inspecting a prototype of the planned automation in Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Governor Obiano assured that electronic devices would be installed in parks across the state to monitor and control the movement of vehicles and further reinforce the security network in the state.
Governor Obiano therefore enjoined the people to give a total support to APGA in the coming elections because his administration had spent over N15bn on the development of infrastructure in Onitsha South alone, riding the entire area of hoodlums and creating a friendly environment for businesses to thrive.
Similarly, the governor announced that Ajasa Street had been approved for construction that would also be extended to James Street, Egenti Street and Cole Street as well as other internal streets and alleys in the area. Street lights and other road infrastructure, he said would be fully installed on all the roads that are due for construction in the area.
Also speaking at the rally in Ogbaru, the APGA Senatorial candidate for Anambra North, Hon. Dubem Obaze declared that the time had come for the people of Ogbaru to reciprocate the kind gestures of the state government to the people of the area.
Noting that Ogbaru has been one of the major beneficiaries of the development initiatives of the Obiano administration, Hon. Obaze averred that the only way of showing appreciation to government was for the people to support all the candidates standing elections on the platform of APGA.
Hon. Obaze also thanked Governor Obiano for his outstanding efforts to transform Anambra State and reposition the South East for rapid growth. Also speaking in Onitsha, the Chairman of Onitsha North Council Area, Mr. Douglas Egbuna noted that Governor Obiano had raised the bar of governance in all indices of performance to justify the support of the people in the coming elections.
Mr. Egbuna also observed that the party had taken its time to field some outstanding candidates that would make it difficult for the electorate to look away from it in the coming elections.
