Akpabio Leaves EFCC Facility, Returns To Residence
BEVERLY HILLS, October 16, (THEWILL) – Senator Godswill Akpabio, the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and Minority Leader of the Senate has left the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he had honoured an invitation as part of investigations into allegations of graft against him during his tenure as governor (2007-2015), THEWILL can authoritatively report.
Akpabio had arrived the headquarters of the agency in Abuja on Friday evening accompanied by his lawyers led by Mr. Ricky Tarfa and some aides.
A senior security official, who asked to remain anonymous, confirmed the development, saying, “Akpabio left the EFCC at about 9.pm local time after questioning.”
THEWILL gathered that Akpabio was invited to respond to allegations of graft by a group.
