In a release by his media aide, Idris Katib, Ajibola expressed God's wonders in the orderliness and itch free elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, chaired by Prof. Attahiru Jega, saying that "God has answered our prayers as a nation".

Ajibola maintained that " we are overjoyed that Almighty Allah answered our prayers and allowed peace to reign in Nigeria despite all the cry of the pessimists that doom would descent on Nigeria".

He said anything could have happened but President Goodluck Jonathan was swift to accept defeat with magnanimity, stressing that his early acceptance of defeat to General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) forestalled possible agitations and violence in our nation.
