INEC Chairman, Jega Stays, Says President Jonathan, Insists Polls Will Hold As Scheduled

SAN FRANCISCO, February 11, (THEWILL) –President Goodluck Jonathan has dismissed reports in the media quoting anonymous top presidential aides saying that the federal government will ask the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, to proceed on terminal leave with just few weeks to the general elections.

President Jonathan who spoke during a special edition of the presidential media chat with select journalists at the presidential villa on Wednesday night, also insisted that the general elections scheduled for March 28, 2015 and April 11, 2015, will hold as scheduled with Jega in charge of the process.
