Uduaghan Admonishes Military Pensioners On Security

ASABA, July 23, (THEWILL) - Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan has charged Retired Military Pensioners to use their wealth of experience positively and avoid negative tendencies that would endanger peace and security in the state.

Uduaghan gave the charge Thursday when the Executives of the National Association of Military Pensioners paid him a courtesy visit in his office, Asaba.

The Governor said they have a major role to play in ensuring the success of the peace and security agenda of his administrations.

He appealed to them not to be involved in the training of youths and touts who oftentimes engage in criminal activities in the region.

"Please appeal to some of your Retired Military Pensions because we learnt that some of this youths involved in criminal activities are been trained by them in different camps to stop such barbaric act and ensure peace and security in the state."

Governor Uduaghan commended them for their contributions towards the success of his administration and promised to partner with them in his effort to provide more dividends of democracy for Deltans.

In his remark, the Chairman of the Association Mr. Benson Erumafuru explained that the group came to declare their support for the governor second term in office.

According to him the Association has faith in the administration of Dr. Uduaghan for living up to expectation and for delivering the dividends of democracy to Deltans. "The Association has agreed to campaign for you for a 2nd term in office. We are here to tell Deltans to support Uduaghan for the 2nd tenure in office, you have already developed the state to enviable height and we know you will do more".

Mr. Erumafuru also noted that the association would support the "One man one vote campaign" of the state, saying, "We will work tirelessly to ensure the success of this campaign. We will go to the grassroots to start this campaign till we achieve success.
