Babatunde Belgore Dies, Buried

San Francisco, August 20, (THEWILL) – Eminent jurist and a former Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Babatunde Belgore has died.

Justice Belgore died on Friday morning inside a Lagos hospital at 76, after a protracted illness, according to a family announcement in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He was buried this evening in his hometown, Isale Koto, Ilorin, Kwara State at about 6.pm WAT, according to Islamic rites.

Some of those who witnessed his burial include the Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Deputy Governor, and Chief Joel Ogundeji, amongst other top government functionaries.

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in a statement, by its out-going Assistant National Publicity Secretary, Gbolahan Gbadamosi, said it hurts that the judicial community has again lost another jurist a week after the death of the former Chairman, Body of Senior Advocates, Prince Tanimose Bankole-Oki.
