APGA Calls For Ngige’s Arrest Over Adoration Tragedy

By Mazi Odera

The national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Sir Victor Umeh has called on the inspector general of police Mohammed Abubakar to effect the immediate arrest of Senator Chris Ngige for his role in the death of 25 worshippers at Holy Ghost Adoration Arena at Uke Idemili North Loacal Government Area of Anambra State.

Speaking to newsmen in Awka after the broadcast on the incident by the state governor Peter Obi, Umeh urged the police to move for Ngige's arrest for instigating the pandemonium that ensued at the end of the crusade which left scores of people dead and injured.

Umeh who hinged his call on the actions of Ngige and his supporters wondered what his supporters were doing at the crusade ground with their party symbols consisting of brooms and posters of Ngige if it was not part of an orchestrated plot to cause confusion at the prayer ground in search of cheap propaganda.

'From what happened at the Holy Ghost Adoration ground it was obvious that this mayhem and pandemonium were carefully planned and executed by Dr Chris Ngige's team. He has been very notorious for this type of antics. Having wasted about 25 human lives it will be so little to say that police should (only) come here and ask people questions.

'Ngige should be immediately arrested because the signs were there that he planned and executed this unfortunate tragedy for the fact that people who infiltrated the arena carried his brooms and campaign posters and chanted solidarity songs without any justification,' Umeh said.

He recalled that Ngige was earlier at the venue the previous day to participate at the mass without being molested by anybody but that knowing that Obi would come the next day he wanted to come but was prevented by the organizers in order to avert a clash of interest.

Umeh regretted however that despite being stopped from coming Ngige had gone ahead to instigate his people to disrupt the Friday night vigil to score cheap political points, noting that he had always displayed such distractive tendencies in churches by coming in the middle of service where those he planted would hail him.

He therefore called for his immediate arrest by the police.

Meanwhile the Anambra State government has declared three days of mourning for those who lost their lives in the adoration tragedy, even as he plans to set up a panel of inquiry to unearth the immediate and remote causes of the tragedy.

In a statewide broadcast Governor Peter Obi who expressed deep sympathy to the families of the deceased and injured declared three days of mourning starting from Saturday and directed all security agencies to ensure that the culprits were brought to book.

He announced that a panel of inquiry would be quickly set up to fully investigate what happened.

The governor who looked deeply agitated by the event of the tragedy told how he had been interrupted when he had been called up by the host priest to speak by three different groups waving brooms and Ngige's posters and singing his name. Obi wondered why Ngige should turn a holy ground into a campaign arena, describing the act as regrettable.

Obi who left three hours before the incident wondered why any sane reporter could insinuate that his security aide fired tear gas and a gun at the venue after the end of the crusade. He said it was clear such could not have come from him as those who knew him would attest.

He appealed to the people of the state to remain calm and prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the victims.

This is very bad. Remember, God brought us together as one nation and one society ,let us love one another. You 're killing the innocent poors for your selfish and material gain, God is the ultimate judge. He is sitting in his thrown watching your evil deed. You that is seeking for power to suppress your neighbours, remember hell fire is real. You are claiming master of the universe, turn away from your evil thou sayest the Lord(Isaiah 55:7 ). This is the advice from the lord, i 've delivered it to you wicked rich men.

It is ridiculous and unbelievable that Victor Umeh and his APGA can display this level of desperation. How can Umeh be calling for the arrest of Dr. Ngige who was nowhere around the vicinity of the unfortunate incident. Can someone pls tell Victor Umeh that the era of impunity in this country is far gone. If gov Obi did not visit the adoration ground just a day after Dr. Ngige's visit, this disaster wouldn't have happened. Victor Umeh, gov Oci, and their APGA should apologize and adequately compensate the bereaved families.

Any one who has intentionally deep his hands into God eyes, should expect noting less than great reaper auction. God might be slow in his anger, but definitely going to act. "perpetrators watch your back"s.

Peter obi is the best governor anambra has ever had, ask any anambra person and me being one will speak the truth. Ngige did absolutely nothing and only f**ls will vote for him, i remember when anambra had no single tiled road but now there are roads everywhere and the place is developing. Please of you are not from anambra and dont live there you ought not to be speaking.
