Serena Williams this afternoon stormed to the Golden land of the Olympics when she fiercely demolished Maria Sharapova 6-0, 6-1 in the women's tennis final. Serena who started the game aggressively, gave Sharapova no breathing space with her powerful service.

Serena who is at the moment wallowing in brilliant form cruised to the finals yesterday by ruthlessly beating world No 1 Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 6-2. Williams has successfully added another gold to the US Olympic medal collection to keep them in the first spot.

Serena celebrated her medal with beautiful broad smile, jumping and lovely dancing footsteps. Her big sister Venus Williams looked on with a grin and took pictures while Serena dances gladly to celebrate her medal. Both Sharapova and Serena had won four grand slam apiece with just Olympic gold medal eluding them. In the end it was Serena who ran away with the gold medal.
