By Emmanuel Penzie

Team GB women's football team thrashed the indomitable lioness of Cameroon 3-0 to book their place in the quarter finals, with a match left Against Brazil in the group stages. Brazil and team GB both have six points each in their group as they beat New Zealand and Cameroon in their first two matches.

Team GB and Brazil will both lock horns 3 days later to determine who tops their group. Stoney opened the scoring accounts for the Brits earlier in the game when she effortlessly tapped the ball into the left bottom corner of the post from Scott's free kick.

A beautiful back heel from Kim Little is all scott needed to shutter the dreams of the Africans, as she slotted past the Cameroonian keeper Ngo Ndom to make it double for the host nation. Houghton sealed the victory for the Brits with a thunderous strike in the 81st minute.

The Cameroonian keeper Ngo Ndom did well to tame the GB ladies from annihilating their team as she saved about 7 potential goals. The Cameroonians were quite robust but that did not make any difference in the game as the Brits proved superior.

The two African ladies Eniola Aluko and Anita Asante from Nigeria and Ghana respectively that played for team GB, worked tirelessly to ensure victory for their team. Both ladies were a delight to watch as they both trade in skill and power with Eniola Aluko having speed as a striker.
