OBUH, NFF MAY CLASH OVER CONTRACT

By NBF News

If feelers from the camp of the Flying Eagles were anything to go by, crisis seems to be brewing between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the newly appointed team's Chief Coach, John Obuh, over the delay in the final sealing of the coach's contract.

Sources close to the coach told Daily Sunsports on condition of anonymity that Coach Obuh has continued to express disappointment over the nonchalant attitude of the federation in inviting him to sign a formal contract, stressing that apart from announcing the appointment in the media, the federation has done nothing concrete to his deal.

Our source further disclosed that he has severally heard Coach Obuh lamenting that he knew nothing about the total financial worth of the contract, stressing that nobody has addressed the issue of his official car and even when the federation would unveil him to Nigerians. Our source further noted that despite repeated promises from the management staff of the federation to meet over the contract issue, the NFF has not really come up with concrete information on whether he would continue with his former contract terms.

'Even if the federation wants him to continue with the former contract, it is not only natural but also legal that they document the new contract. But they have not deemed it necessary to invite him to give him the contract paper for his lawyer to study it before he appends his signature.'In fairness to the federation, the technical department has proposed dates and fixed several appointments with the coach, but they could not actualise the appointments.

'As it is now, the coach does not know whether how long the contract would last and the financial rewards involved in the new deal. Nobody is even talking about unveiling him to the Nigerian public,' our source noted.
