Sima Ibrahim, CEO of Exopa Modeling Agency INTERNATIONALLY-ACCLAIMED modeling agency Exopa is set to cause a massive shake up in Africa's modeling arena, barely two years after it got established in Ghana and has managed to make modeling an attractive business in the country.

Sima Ibrahim, CEO of Exopa Modeling Agency, in an exclusive interview with Beatwaves on Wednesday, expressed optimism that in the next two years his outfit would be able to take total control of the fashion and modeling industries on the African continent.

“I will say two years from now we shall be conquering the whole of Africa. Yes we can conquer Africa,” he said.

In December last year the company set 'a litmus test' with a fashion show in Togo. The event was so successful that Sima was asked to come back to Togo to do more of such shows.

Across the continent, however, Sima said a number of people especially fashion designers had been calling on his outfit to come to their country to establish a branch.

“People have been calling from Nigeria, others have been calling us from Ivory Cost but I tell them that we are starting slowly. We just moved to Togo and it was good. We will be opening an office there pretty soon. From there we will go to Ivory Coast and establish another office, organise a show or two before moving to Nigeria,” he added.

In June the company would be holding in Accra one of the biggest fashion and modeling festivals ever. Dubbed the “Exopa Ghana Fashion Weekend', the show would be a three-day event starting from June 4 to 6, at the Accra International Conference Centre. The first day would see the showcasing of designs from upcoming designers while the second day would be for second class designers, both local and international. The last day would be for the big names - internationally and locally.

The event, according to Sima, was to “properly put Ghana's fashion industry on the world's fashion scene”.  It is anticipated to attract more than six thousand participants.

Designers would be coming from around the world, including countries like Cameroun, South Africa, Kenya and more, as well as from Europe.

There would be lots of side attractions including musical performances from international music icon Seal, who would be supported by local artistes like 5five, R2bees, Kwaw Kese and Samini among others. By Francis Addo
