MY COACH PUT ME ON MY TOES

West Brom striker, Osaze Peter Odemwingie has acknowledged that it was his coach's criticism that helped him back to his feet.

While Osaze was out injured and West Brom was struggling, coach Roy Hodgson had challenged him to proved that his 15 goals haul last season was not a fluke.

Osaze gave an indication that his season was about to begin last weekend when he fired home the winner against Yakubu's Blackburn, he was named man of the match.

The Eagles attacker who has been struggling with his form all season declared that he was back and will continue to work harder.

Osaze
'It was (a distracting time) but it's normal.'He put out his frustrations about my absence but I took the positives out of it and was hoping to get over the injuries and be back.

'You have so many supporters and opinions so it was a tough period.

'The manager said himself this week that what makes you a man, a footballer at this level, is when you can block these things out.

'It was a very good comment from him because in this sport there are a lot of opinions.

'I just blocked it but it wasn't easy. Sometimes critics are justified and not justified but if you give up then it means you are not strong.

'The most important thing for me now is that it's behind me and I'll keep working hard. I'm only looking forward now.'
