Port Harcourt- Ikwerre Traditional Rulers Council, Obio/Akpor, Rivers State, has praised the security agencies in the country over their recent breakthrough in getting to the roots of the Boko Haram scourge through the reported arrest of their spokesman and alleged sponsors.

The council said the Boko Haram sect had dented the image of the country to a large extent and urged the security agencies to be more proactive in stemming the wave of brigandage so as to forestall anarchy in the country.

Chairman of the council, His Royal Highness, Frank Eke, told newsmen in Port Harcourt, yesterday, said: 'The situation was more confusing and alarming when viewed from the point of religion.

'Nigeria remains a secular state and people should be left to make their choices of the religion they wish to align with.'
