NFF 'LL 'SETTLE' SIASIA THIS WEEK - AMADU

The legal issues and other hostilities raging between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the immediate past chief coach of the Super Eagles, Samson Siasia, would finally be settled this week.

This was the assurance given by the General Secretary of the federation, Barrister Musa Amadu, while reacting to the olive branch gesture from the sacked Eagles coach, during a vote of thanks at the the unveiling of the Eagles'new Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, in Abuja last week.

The Flying Eagles' former handler had last Thursday not only withdrawn his litigation against the federation, opting for settlement out of court, but also surprisingly stormed Keshi's unveiling ceremony at the National Stadium Abuja in company of his wife.

Following Siasia's decision to withdraw the N1 billion lawsuits he instituted against the NFF executive board, the President of the board, Aminu Maigari, had while commending his decision, maintained that Siasia was still an indispensible top member of the Nigerian football family.

'To emphasise what the president said, I want to add that coach Samson Siasia is not a surplus to requirement in the Nigerian football family. His presence here has proved what the federation thinks of him. We will, therefore, do everything possible to see how we can meet with him to discuss and settle his demands hopefully by next week,' Amadu assured.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles' former captain, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, has confessed that the decision, to finally sack immediate chief coach of the Eagles, Samson Siasia, almost tore members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Sub-committee apart. Confirming that there was open display of sentiment in arriving at the final decision to give Siasia the boot, the Bolton Wanderers' former mercurial playmaker, disclosed that they later allowed the interest of the country and the development of the game to override their sentiments and biases.
