VP Sambo salutes Edwin Clark for patriotism

Vice President Namadi Sambo has described Chief Edwin Clark as a patriotic and detribalised Nigerian who has the nation's interest at heart.

He was speaking at the residence of the elder statesman in Asokoro when he paid him a Sallah homage.

Sambo noted the expression of the Ijaw and Urhobo culture at the occasion, which attracted an array of distinguished Nigerians.

Earlier, Chief Clark, commended the synergy existing between the President and the Vice President, which he likened to that of former President Shehu Shagari and Chief Alex Ekwueme.

He thanked the vice president for such a visit and prayed for peace, prosperity and progress of the country.

Highlights of the occasion were the display of Ijaw and Urhobo cultures.

In attendance were Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former Anambra State governor, Group Captain Dan Suleiman and his wife, and several other distinguished Nigerians.
