I'LL SCORE MORE GOALS -ANEKE BOASTS

Nigeria Premier League rave of the moment, Jude Aneke, says he's not done yet with goal scoring after taking his goal tally to 20 to set an all-time new record in the domestic Professional League.

The Kaduna United talisman scored a hat trick in his team's 3-1 defeat of Niger Tornadoes on Wednesday in one of the Week 36 league fixtures played at the Ranch Bees Stadium in Kaduna to erase the 18 goals record set by former Kano Pillars' ace striker, Ahmed Musa last season.

With two more games to go in the current season, Aneke said he would score more goals to put the Hot Shot Award race beyond the reach of other contenders.

'I'm happy to score a hat trick today (Wednesday) to take my goal tally to 20. But I'm not done yet. I hope to score more goals in the remaining two games so that I would put the Highest Goal Scorer Award beyond the reach of any other contender,' Aneke told League Unlimited in a telephone chat moments after midweek's match.

The former Anambra United forward had earlier boasted that he would score at least twice against Sharks of Port Harcourt in the last home fixture for Kaduna United this season.

Wednesday's hat trick was Aneke's second in the current season. He had earlier scored a hat trick in his team's 4¬-2 defeat of Lobi Stars.

Meanwhile, the Enugu State-born goal merchant, who is warming up for a top-flight professional career in Belgium, says he is ready to fight for a shirt in the Super Eagles.

'I'm ready to take my goal scoring talent to the national team. I believe that I have the anointing for scoring goals. All I need is to be given a chance to prove myself,' he said.
