Coach of Enyimba FC, Okey Emordi, may soon be out of job going by the statement of the club boss, who said that the coach has failed following the team's inability to reach the final of the 2011 CAF Champions League. Wydad of Morocco, on Sunday, pipped two-time champion, Enyimba 1-0 on aggregate to set up a final clash with Esperance of Tunisia.

'We gave the coach a free hand and the necessary support to assemble a solid squad that will win the CAF Champions League, yet he failed,' lamented the Enyimba Chairman, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who took exceptions to the tactics employed by the coach during the game on Sunday.

'I won't be able to take a decision on the coach, at least for now, but a decision on him would be taken at the appropriate time.'

A visibly upset Anyansi, later on Monday, promised a massive purge in the club.

Enyimba's exit from the Champions League means that the team will not play international football next year. It lost out on a chance to feature in next year's CAF Confederation Cup after it was beaten by regional rival, Heartland FC in the Nigerian Federation Cup final game last month.

The club is also far off the pace in the defence of its league crown, as it is 21 points behind the frontrunners with five matches at hand.

Former Enugu Rangers' handler Emordi, is in his second stint as Enyimba's coach. He guided 'The People's Elephant' to win the 2004 CAF Champions League after Kadiri Ikhana led the team to its first-ever triumph in the competition the previous year.
