EGYPT CONFIRM BRAZIL FRIENDLY IN QATAR IN NOVEMBER

Brazil defeated Egypt 4-3 at the Confederations Cup in South Africa in 2009

Egypt will play their rearranged international friendly against Brazil in Qatar next month.

The match will be played in the Qatari capital Doha on 14 November.

The Pharaohs had been scheduled to play the South Americans on 6 September, but the game was cancelled due to security concerns in Cairo.

When the sides last met in 2009, Brazil beat Egypt 4-3 at the Confederations Cup in South Africa.

“Egypt will play Brazil in a friendly match in Qatar on 14 November,” the Egypt Football Association said in a statement.

The match will be the first for American trainer Bob Bradley who took over the Pharaohs' coaching duties last month.

Bradley replaced Hassan Shehata, who quit after Egypt's poor start to 2012 Nations Cup qualifying.

Egypt have won the last three editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, but failed to qualify for the next tournament in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

The game will serve as good preparation for the Egyptians who are seeking to rebuild their squad for future matches.

The Pharaohs host Niger in their final qualifier on Saturday but will be using their Olympic squad in preparation for the African Olympic qualifying tournament.

The 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil are also set to face Gabon, the hosts of the 2012 Nations Cup, in the Gabonese capital Libreville in November.
