Emmanuel Adebayor insists he has no regrets regarding his loan move to Tottenham after falling out of favour at Manchester City.

'I never regret making a decision,' Adebayor said. 'When I move forward I move forward, as I told you. If I regret leaving City, I'd regret leaving Madrid, I would regret Arsenal, and I would regret maybe even Metz where I started off. So I have no regrets in life, life is too short to start regretting things.'

The former Arsenal man has been frozen out by manager Roberto Mancini, spending the end of last season at Real Madrid.

The striker has hit the ground running at White Hart Lane, scoring three goals in his first two games – including a brace in his home debut against Liverpool – and is harboring no ill-feeling towards the Italian.

'All we have to do is play, enjoy ourselves on the pitch, and if you have to do something then do it with fun,' said Adebayor. 'Today I don't have a regret. I have a lot of friends there (Manchester City) - Kolo Toure, Yaya Toure, Nigel de Jong, Abdul Razak - and I still love them, so I wish them the best of luck.'

Adebayor also brushed off the abuse he received from Spurs fans while at former club and north London rivals Arsenal.

'It's football – fans are passionate about it and sometimes it's difficult for players to take, but we are good men and we all make mistakes and we are footballers,' he added. 'Sometimes you can feel a little abused but, at the end of the day, you know how it is, you know how fans react, and I just take it in a positive way.'
