WARRING KWALE YOUTHS SIGN PEACE DEAL

ASABA- DELTA State Government has brokered a peace accord between warring youths in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of state.

The parley, which culminated in the warring parties signing a peace accord was coordinated by Mr. Ebifa Ijomah, Commissioner, Directorate of Youth Development.

The accord was the climax of several meetings between the warring factions and the Commissioner to quell the restiveness in the town.

A copy of the undertaking, which was signed by the leaders of the warring factions, was handed over to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Kwale Division for appropriate documentation.

Addressing the tripartite meeting, Ijomah reminded the youths that no meaningful development would be achieved in an atmosphere of rancour and violence.

He said that the administration of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan required an atmosphere devoid of crises to achieve its lofty objectives for the youths in the state, and urged them to be united and peaceful in their approach to issues affecting them rather than resort to violence.

The DPO, Kwale Police Division was represented by Mr. Ofem at the signing.
