NO DEAL YET FOR HARGREAVES - HODGSON

Roy Hodgson insists he is in no rush to put an agreement in place that will see Owen Hargreaves link up with West Brom.

The England international is currently available as a free agent following his release by Manchester United.

An injury-ravaged spell at Old Trafford has left many managers reluctant to take a punt on the 30-year-old midfielder.

Hodgson, though, is prepared to offer Hargreaves a second chance in the Premier League and has been attempting to put a deal in place.

Nothing has been sorted as yet, but the Baggies boss claims no timescale has been put on the talks.

He said, 'There is no rush on our side. It can take the time it takes.

'Owen has been out of football totally for a year and last played briefly four years ago. Weeks and days don't make that much difference.'

While Hargreaves remains a work in progress, Hodgson claims he is not expecting to be busy before the summer transfer window slams shut on Wednesday.

He added, 'We are not actively seeking other players. If anything was going to happen now it would be if we were going to get raided for one or two other players.

'If we are missing in an area we would have to go and look.'
