GBARAMATU YOUTHS BACK UDUAGHAN ON DESOPADEC APPOINTMENT

The group said that those protesting the appointment were enemies of Gbaramatu people.

The group in a statement by Mr. Ubebe Felix, urged those who kicked against the appointment of Mr Otuaro, to forget their individual differences and focus on issues that would accelerate development in oil producing communities in the state.

He said: 'The appointment of Otuaro received the blessings of all Ijaw youths in Gbaramatu Kingdom. Those who protested and refused to disclose their identities are faceless people. The Ijaws in Gbaramatu Kingdom are happy with the decision of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to appoint our son because he knows that he is capable of delivering to the oil producing communities in the state.'

'We want to distance ourselves from the activities of some selfish persons, who are not even Ijaws. Anyone who knows the antecedents of Otuaro, particularly his contribution to the emancipation the Niger Delta people, will not complain and that was why we said that their action is ill conceived and mischievous,' the group said.

Also a Niger Delta activist, Mr Paul Bebenimibo, challenged the protesters to disclose their identity, they have the interest of the people at heart.
