EDO ASSEMBLY PASSES N21.1BN SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET

BENIN CITY - Edo State House of Assembly, yesterday, passed a supplementary budget of N21.1billion presented to it by Governor Adams Oshiomhole, with a view to fast tracking developmental projects in the state.

The House also summoned all commissioners to brief it on their financial incomes and expenditure since assuming office. Speaker of the House, Mr. Uyi Igbe, explained that the supplementary budget was passed 'to ensure further development in the state.'

The bill was approved by the House after taking a clause by clause consideration of the proposal as presented by Chairman, Appropriation Committee of the house, Mr Peter Aliu, representing Etsako East constituency.

The House also approved N7.2 billion for bond servicing, making it the highest allocation, this was followed by Drainage and Sewage and Environment with N2.6 billion while Ministries, Departments and parastatals received N2.4 billion.

Oil and Gas Commission received N1.8 billion followed by the ministry of Health and the Hospital Management Board with N1 billion. Rapid Response Agency was allocated N150million, Directorate of Administration N80million, Ministry of finance N127million, Board of Internal Revenue N350million, Edo State House of Assembly N50million.
