Head Pastor, Trinity House Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, has described marriage as the first relationship, the first union, first business, first school, which was first, established by God. He further described it as the first foundation of life, adding that, that is why it is always threatened.

He made the comment during the launch of The Talking Couple, written by Mrs. Nkechi Ali-Balogun recently.

Ighodalo stated that only a very few people understand what marriage is all about before going into it and prescribed three key ingredients necessary for an enduring marriage.

'Your marriage must endure because if it does not, it will affect you as a person. It will affect your orientation, your attitude and your confidence.

To be honest with you, marriage is not because of children. It is not because of sex or because you are from the same background, no! It is something you need to go into, knowing God's purpose for you in it. You need to go into it with your eyes very wide open and when you get in, you shut your eyes and then maintain patience, tolerant, love and sincerity,' he explained.

In his remark, former CEO, Unilever, Mr. Gemalliel Onosode, stressed the need for couple to have good understanding and love for each other in spirituality and sharing.

According to him, 'Marriage is all about sharing. Both sides must be committed to it. It should not be 60:40 or 70:30 but 50:50. So, its not about just giving or just receiving because if you turn your spouse into a receiver, you deny him or her the opportunity of being blessed. I hope everyone who reads this book will be challenged and be helped by it.'

The occasion, which was chaired by the Managing Director, Zenith Bank Plc, Godwin Emefiele, had the CEO, Prima Garnet Ogilvy Nigeria, Pastor Lolo Akinwunmi as the book reviewer and assisted by the Chairman, Economic summit Group, Maxi Sam Ohuabunwa, the Elegant Stallion, Onyeka Onwuenu unveiled the book.
