ASABA - DELTA State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, yesterday,  said the  agenda of his administration was to provide job opportunities for unemployed Deltans.

Speaking at Government House, Asaba, where he played host to Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Malam Abubakar Mohammed and his officials, Uduaghan said, 'As a state government, in the first dispensation, we created jobs, but in this second tenure, we have collapsed our agenda into our ultimate goal of job creation.

'The biggest challenge in the country today is unemployment. Once the people are unemployed, they form a pool that can be recruited for mischief. That is why we want to provide opportunities for the young ones to be employed.'

According to him, 'The problem again is that 38 to  40 per cent of the unemployed population is unemployable and that is where NDE comes in its  skill acquisition centres, one of which you said you had come to inspect at Onicha-Ugbo.'
