Henceforth, the FCT Administration will utilise the financial capacity of Nigerian banks in its Public-Private-Partnership as well as its developmental strides.

The FCT Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed stated this on Wednesday in his office at Area 11, Garki I District, Abuja while receiving some officials of the First Bank of Nigeria .

The minister noted that Nigerian banks have a lot of financial capacity that can positively be tapped for developmental advantage thereby complementing the good efforts of the government.

Senator Mohammed reiterated that government sometimes lack financial capacity to carry out its responsibility especially capital intensive projects.

The minister called onĀ  financial institutions to come into the Federal Capital Territory where opportunities are abound particularly in infrastructural as well as real estate development.

Senator Mohammed decried the unholy activities of some Mass Housing developers in the Federal Capital Territory, describing them as shylocks who reap genuine prospective house owners of their fortunes because of greed.

He said that such Mass Housing Developers hijack mass housing plots, build low quality houses and in some cases outright refusal to build; while illegally sub-dividing such plots and selling to unsuspecting members of the public.

The minister directed the FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr. Biodun Nathaniel Olorunfemi, the FCDA and the Abuja Investment and Infrastructural Centre to sit down with the officials of the First Bank of Nigeria Plc to find ways of concretising in solid terms such partnership between the two bodies.

Speaking earlier, the Executive Vice President Public Sector (North) of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Dauda Lawal who led the delegation said the bank was in FCT Administration to seek for partnership; adding that it has all the needed capacity to be exploited in the interest of all.
