GROUP CHIDES FAYEMI OVER COMMENT ON SOUTHWEST POLITICIANS

By Tunji Oluwasanmi

For describing anyone in the Southwest that does belong to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) as a bastard, Ekiti State Governor, Dr.

Kayode Fayemi has been described as “a lousy son of a bastard” who does not know the difference between being a governor and a proposal-writing activist.

Fayemi had said during the ACN rally in Akure, Ondo State capital that; “ACN and LP (Labour Party) are not children of the same father as anybody who is not a member of the ACN in the zone is a bastard.”

Reacting to the statement, the Ekiti Justice Group (EJG), said in a statement signed by Coordinator, Dr. Tunji Oluwasanmi and Director of Communications and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Babawibe that it was evident by that statement that Fayemi must have graduated from being a chain smoker to consumer of that prohibited substance that is synonymous with his godfather.

EJG said; “When we heard that Fayemi described Yoruba sons and daughters that are not in the ACN as bastards, we said it was not possible until we read it in the newspapers on Saturday.

“By Fayemi's estimation, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr.

Olusegun Mimiko, Dr Olusegun Agagu, Chief Segun Oni, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, Senator Bode Olajumoke, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, Prof Tunde Adeniran, Baba Paul Alabi, Chief Ebenezer Babatope and other notable Yoruba sons that are not in the ACN are bastards?

“All the personalities listed above are people whose accomplishments in life cannot be matched by Fayemi and most of them are even old enough to be his father. Therefore, if they are bastards, then Fayemi, himself must be son of a bastard!”

While calling on all well-meaning Yoruba sons and daughters to rise in defence of the rights of the people to freedom of association, EJG said; “If a supposed governor of a Yoruba State could open his mouth wide to describe his own kinsmen as bastards simply because they choose not to belong to the ACN, and he is not called to order, soon; the ACN people will stand before our revered traditional rulers and call them bastards just because they are not able to compel all their subjects to join ACN.

“Very soon too, men of God like Pastor E. A. Adeboye will be called bastard for not compelling all members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) that are Yorubas to join ACN.”
