Kono Monarch Congratulates Dakuku … Re-iterates Opobo – Kono Unity

By Chris Finebone

Against the backdrop of the quest by Warisenibo (Hon.) Dakuku Adol Peterside to represent the people of Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming April general elections, the paramount ruler of Kono Town, in Khana Local Government Area, Chief Monday Anson Nwige, Te-Ere Bue Kono and his Council of Chiefs have congratulated Dakuku Peterside on his emergence as candidate.

The congratulatory message was contained in a special congratulatory letter dated 25th February, 2011 and signed by the Royal Father, the Secretary of the Kono Council of Chiefs, Chief Bestman Jomina and the Kono Youth President, Mr. Niabari Nwidobie.

The letter reads in parts: “It is with high sense of responsibility to give honour to whom honour is due that we write to congratulate you. However, we regret most sincerely for our delay in sending our congratulatory message to you before this time.”

“That from time immemorial, Kono Community and the Opobians have been living together as brothers and sisters – and age long relationship which still exists till today,” the statement continues.

It further states: “The Kono General Assembly congtratulates you for winning the primaries conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as aspirant to the Federal House of Representatives.”

“That from the day God Almighty gave you Commissioner for Works, our children have been informing us that no day passes that you did not assist them in one way or the other especially for our son, Neeka Nwike, whom you picked and assisted.”

“That even if Kono is not in your Local Government, we will still assist you by giving you some of our credible youths that will go with your people and campaign for you.”

“As our people always say, that when the righteous man is in authority, the people rejoice. Since you were made the Commissioner, our people have gotten the dividends of democracy.”

“After your eight years in the Federal House of Representatives, God will still push you to the Federal House of Senate as a Senator (Amen).

“Finally, be rest assured that come May 2011 you are in the Federal House of Representatives and nothing on earth can stop what God has destined.”

The statement concluded that: “We are delighted that you have brought honour to Opobo and Rivers State in general.”

It would be recalled that since Warisenibo Dakuku Peterside declared his intention to run for the House of Representatives and subsequently emerged as the PDP candidate for Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, there has been a deluge of support and goodwill from several quarters across the Rivers State and beyond, making many to believe that he is sure of rolling over minions that are being sponsored by other political parties in the constituency.
