MAKINWA DRAGS GREEK CLUB TO FIFA

By NBF News

Ex-Nigeria international striker Stephen Ayodele Makinwa has dragged Greek club Larissa to world football governing body FIFA over their decision to ship him back to Italian club Lazio before the end of his loan deal.

And while Makinwa, through his Italian agent Paolo Fabbri, is seeking redress at FIFA, Larissa have taken their own case to the Greek court seeking to cancel the player's contract because of his injury as well as the fact that he returned late from the Christmas holidays.

Stephen Ayodele Makinwa
'Makinwa is back in Greece, but no one knows whether he is back training with the club or not as this row is a big story here in Greece,' a source told MTNFootball.com.

Larissa have long been sceptical about Makinwa's fitness after a long_drawn nee injury that needed major surgery so much so that they got Lazio to give them a discounted fee for the player's services in the summer.

Makinwa, who has featured for several Italian clubs including Reggiana and Palermo, has struggled in his time at modest Larissa, scoring only a goal and playing mostly from the bench.

In his 10 appearances before the before the holidays break, he started two of those games and was substitute in the other eight matches. He only started and finished a game.
