Ibrahim Shekarau Is ANPP's Choice
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 16, (THEWILL) – Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau has emerged the Presidential flag bearer of the All Nigeria People Party (ANPP) in the April general election.
Shekarau beat three other aspirants to clinch the nomination at the party’s primary inside the Eagle Square in Abuja.
According to results declared by the Chairman of the ANPP National Election Committee and the party's returning officer, Maina Lawal, Ibrahim Shekarau polled 4,178 votes, while Chief Harry Akande polled 708 votes, Mr. Dauda Birmah polled 148 votes and Alhaji Bashir Tofa polled 139 votes.
A total of 5,315 delegates were accredited to vote while 142 votes were voided.
Party National Chairman, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu there after presented Shekarau a certificate of return.
